Seven Countries Invited to Present 2036 Olympic Hosting Projects

Seven countries are talking with the Olympic committee about hosting the 2036 Games.

They include India, Germany, Hungary, Qatar, South Africa, South Korea and Turkiye.

Each country has been invited to explain its plan in November.

The committee will look at where events could take place and how the Games would be paid for.

It will also consider whether athletes would have a good experience and whether the Games could benefit communities afterward.

India’s plan is centred on Ahmedabad.

India first submitted its interest in 2024.

Other countries cannot join the 2036 process after October 31.

The IOC expects to choose the host in mid-2029.
