India’s young engineers must cross academic boundaries: Mizoram Governor · thehansindia.com

Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh spoke to engineers in New Delhi.

He said engineers should learn about more than one subject.

Different kinds of engineers increasingly work together on the same problems.

For example, civil engineers may use artificial intelligence and climate models.

Mechanical engineers may work with robots and advanced manufacturing.

He said engineering schools should provide practical projects and field experience.

He also said India must maintain the infrastructure it has already built.

He described UPI and the space programme as examples of Indian engineering success.
