Slaked Lime Found In Raids On Haryana Synthetic Paneer

Officials in Haryana recently inspected places where fake or non-dairy paneer was being made.

They found buckets of slaked lime, also called chuna, at some units.

Officials said the substance was being used to make synthetic paneer look whiter.

The inspections took place around Punahana in Nuh district, including the Gondola area.

This area is described as a major centre for making analogue paneer.

Haryana has banned the production and sale of this type of paneer for one year.

The ban also applies to businesses that use it in food.

These businesses include hotels, restaurants, caterers, eateries and cloud kitchens.
