Nasdaq Plans 23-Hour Trading Day From December 2026 To Meet Growing Global Demand For US Stocks · freepressjournal.in

Nasdaq is a place in the United States where people can buy and sell pieces of companies, called shares.

Right now it is open from early morning until the evening, but Nasdaq wants to stay open almost all day and night.

It plans to add a special overnight trading time from 9 o'clock at night to 4 o'clock in the morning.

This way, people who live in other countries can trade even when they are awake at different times.

The new schedule would start on December 6, 2026, but first a US government group called the SEC has to say yes.

The market would take a one-hour break every day between 8 and 9 in the evening to get ready for the next day.

There would be safety rules, like stopping orders that are placed outside certain price limits.

Orders still waiting when the overnight session ends would be cancelled and would need to be entered again.

Only the main Nasdaq market would stay open this long; its other markets would keep their current hours.
