Samajwadi Party Won’t Field Third Rajya Sabha Candidate
The Samajwadi Party decided not to put forward a third candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections.
Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced this on Tuesday.
The party has already nominated Ram Gopal Yadav and Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani.
They filed their papers in Lucknow.
Tuesday was the last day for candidates to submit nominations.
The BJP had announced eight candidates the day before.
Its list did not include Hardeep Singh Puri or B. L. Verma, whose terms in the Rajya Sabha are due to end next month.
