Chance for Tanvi, Srikanth after withdrawals at badminton World Championships

The badminton World Championships are being held in Delhi.

Some players have decided not to play, which is called a withdrawal.

When players withdraw, backup players called reserves get a chance to play.

Tanvi Sharma is the fifth reserve for the singles draw.

Kidambi Srikanth is the third reserve for the singles draw.

Both could now get a spot in the main draw.

A mixed doubles pair, Surya and Amrutha P, could also get in.

Japan's men's doubles pair, Takuro Hoki and Kobayashi, has confirmed they will not play.

Because a Taiwanese pair pulled out, invitations were sent to Surya and Amrutha.

The tournament starts on Monday, and the draws could still change.
