India hold 178-run lead over Sri Lanka in Galle Test

Cricket is a game where two teams take turns hitting a ball and scoring runs.

India and Sri Lanka are playing a special long version of cricket called a Test match.

India batted first and scored 462 runs.

Then it was Sri Lanka's turn to bat, and they scored 284 runs.

Because India scored more runs, they are ahead by 178 runs.

A Sri Lankan player named Sonal Dinusha scored 100 runs all by himself, which is called a century.

Another Sri Lankan player, Niroshan Dickwella, scored 80 runs.

India's bowler Manav Suthar did a great job and got four players out.

The sky was cloudy and it looked like rain, so the players had to stop.

They will keep playing on Tuesday in a city called Galle.
