SUV Breaches J&K Checkpoints, Police Open Fire, One Arrested
Very early on Friday morning, a big car called a Scorpio was driving on a highway in Jammu and Kashmir, a region in India.
Police officers were standing at a checkpoint called Chanderkote, and they told the driver to stop.
The driver did not stop, and the car sped away down the highway.
Police fired three warning shots to try to make the car stop.
The car kept going and escaped from the checkpoint.
Later, police found the car left on a road about 8 to 9 kilometers away from the highway.
The people inside the car ran away into the nearby forest.
Police caught one of them, a man named Altaf Mohammad, but they think two more people are still hiding.
Many officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the CRPF, and the Army are searching the area.
Police want to find the people who ran away and understand why they did not stop.
