Police in Chennai arrested businessman R Veeramani in a case involving the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl.

Two other people, Shanthi and Mahendra Simhan, were arrested with him.

Police allege that the couple helped make the alleged offence happen.

The three people were sent to judicial custody after appearing in court.

The case started when a man gave police a pen drive on October 6, 2025.

The pen drive reportedly contained a video showing an elderly man allegedly assaulting a minor.

Police registered a case the next day.

The arrests came after investigators had earlier sought to close the case, but that request was rejected by a special POCSO court.
