The Indian Olympic Association, or IOA, is choosing new leaders for its Executive Council on December 5, 2026.

The current council’s term is due to end five days later.

The IOA appointed Sanjay Kumar Srivastava to oversee the elections.

The election work also includes the Athletes’ Commission and a roster for Sportspersons of Outstanding Merit.

Applications for that roster opened on September 18 and are due by October 18.

The Athletes’ Commission election is scheduled for November 3.

It will have 10 elected members, with five men and five women.

IOA President PT Usha said the elections should help make the organisation more open and accountable and give athletes a meaningful role.

The IOA said the process will follow the relevant sports governance laws, rules and election provisions.
