India’s Sports Ministry has created a new group to help sports organizations hold fair elections.

The group is called the National Sports Election Panel.

It has 20 members, including several people who previously worked in election offices.

The panel will choose officers to supervise elections for sports bodies.

The Indian Olympic Association and All India Football Federation may use this system for upcoming elections.

The panel was created because of a sports governance law passed in 2025.

The government also delayed the creation of a National Sports Tribunal.

The tribunal is meant to settle sports disputes.
