India’s Female Workforce Participation Rises, But Dual-Income Shift Unclear
More women joining workforce: Is India moving towards more dual income households? · businesstoday.in

More women in India were working or looking for work in July 2026 than in June.

The increase was especially large in rural areas.

The share of rural women with jobs also rose.

Urban women saw smaller increases in participation and employment.

When more women work, families may have more than one income.

This could help families save or invest more money.

However, the survey does not count how many families have two earners.

So the data show stronger female workforce participation, but they do not prove that dual-income households are already becoming more common.
