Assam Flood Traps Dairy Family as Villages Disappear
A very large flood hit Nepali Khuti, a dairy-farming village in Assam.

Krishna Prasad Sharma was away delivering milk when his wife and two sons became trapped.
None of them could swim.

None of the four family members could swim, and strong currents threatened the village.
Neighbors rescued the family by breaking through a ventilator with a bamboo pole.
The family spent the rest of the day on their tin roof as the village disappeared underwater.
