Over 8320 teaching positions filled in Central Universities since 2022
Since September 2022, more than 8320 teaching positions have been filled in Central Universities in India.
This includes 1129 posts for Scheduled Castes (SC), 551 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), 1917 for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and 420 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has created a new website called CU-Chayan to help universities find and hire teachers more easily.
They also asked universities to post job openings regularly throughout the year to make sure they can find enough qualified teachers.
