Two Missing After Rogue Wave at Visakhapatnam Beach
A group of seven friends went to Old Gangavaram Beach in Visakhapatnam to celebrate Friendship Day.
While they were taking pictures near a rock, a big wave hit the shore.
The wave pulled a girl named Neetu into the water.
Her friend Damodar tried to save her but was also taken by the wave.
Police and the Coast Guard searched with helicopters and drones, but they couldn't find the missing people by Sunday evening.
Two people, Neetu (18/19) and Damodar (30), went missing after a rogue wave swept them at Old Gangavaram Beach on Friendship Day.
The incident occurred while a group of seven friends were posing for photos and videos near Suswagatham Rock.
Damodar, an autorickshaw driver, attempted a rescue but was also swept away by the currents.
Police and the Indian Coast Guard launched a search using helicopters and drones, but the missing persons were not found by Sunday evening.
The tragedy followed a celebration of Damodar’s upcoming engagement with Kanakamahalakshmi.
