Former MLA warns government against delaying election promises

A former leader named Gandra Venkataramana Reddy is asking the government to bring back two special programs that help poor families pay for their daughters' weddings.

The programs are called Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak.

He says the government promised to give eligible families one tola of gold, and he wants that promise kept.

He joined a peaceful protest called a dharna and blocked a road at Ambedkar Centre in Bhupalpally.

The protest was organized by the women's wing of the BRS party.

He wore a black badge to show he was upset about an attack on a reporter named Pull Ravinder.

He also asked the government to give women Rs 2,500 every month and farmers Rs 15,000 for each acre of land.

He said farmers are suffering because their insurance payments were not made.

He wants Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to focus on keeping election promises instead of criticizing the old government.

He also asked for irrigation water and fertilizers for farmers.
