Test Cricket Season Begins August 13 With Three Major Series

Test cricket is the oldest and longest way of playing cricket, and a big new season of it starts on Thursday, August 13.

Three different sets of teams will begin playing almost at the same time in different parts of the world.

Australia will play against Bangladesh in the city of Darwin, in Australia.

This trip is especially important because Bangladesh has not played a Test series in Australia for 23 years.

India will travel to Sri Lanka to play two matches, first in Galle and then in Colombo.

Those matches are part of a big competition called the ICC World Test Championship.

England will play three matches against Pakistan at the famous cricket grounds of Headingley, Lord's and Edgbaston.

That means cricket fans will have plenty of games to watch in a short time.

The teams will have to get used to very different conditions, making it a busy and exciting time for red-ball cricket.
