India Names West Indies Squads; Pant Leads Rest Of India
The BCCI announced several Indian cricket squads.
Shubman Gill will captain India in three ODIs against the West Indies.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are included in that ODI team.
Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir are joining the ODI squad for the first time.
Rishabh Pant was not selected for the ODIs, but he will captain the Rest of India team in the Irani Cup.
India will also play five T20Is, led by Shreyas Iyer.
Varun Chakaravarthy cannot play in the Japan T20I or Asian Games because of a side strain.
Vipraj Nigam will replace him, while Nitish Kumar Reddy will play in the ODI series instead of the Asian Games.
Shubman Gill will captain India’s 15-member ODI squad against the West Indies, with KL Rahul as vice-captain.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli return to the ODI squad, while Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir receive maiden call-ups.
