Salman Rushdie Receives One of America’s Highest Literary Honors

Salman Rushdie has received one of America’s important literary honors.

The award recognizes his writing career.

Many people know him because of the controversy surrounding his book The Satanic Verses.

However, he has written 15 novels.

One of them, Midnight’s Children, won the Booker Prize.

He also wrote books such as Shame, The Moor’s Last Sigh and Quichotte.

In 2024, he published a memoir called Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder.

The memoir describes his experience after an attack in 2022 and became a National Book Award nonfiction finalist.
