Chhattisgarh New Motor Vehicle Rules Take Effect August 15

Starting August 15, new rules for cars, bikes, and other vehicles begin in Chhattisgarh, a state in India.

If your driving licence expires, it will stay valid for 30 more days so you have time to renew it.

You can even apply to renew your licence up to one year before it expires.

If you honk your horn too much or use it in a no-horn zone, you will first get a warning.

If you keep doing it, you may have to pay a fine of between 500 and 1,500 rupees.

Cars that let out too much smoke get a warning first and then bigger fines of 1,000 to 2,000 rupees.

Driving without third-party insurance, which protects other people if you cause an accident, can now cost a much bigger fine.

If you are hurt in a road accident, or someone in your family is, any government help you receive will not be taken away from the money you are owed.

The rules help careful drivers while making repeat rule-breakers pay penalties.
