Indian Markets: Key Drivers and Trends
This week, the Indian stock market is influenced by several important factors.
The Nifty Pharma sector did really well, going up by almost 2%, while the Nifty Defence sector went down by about 1.3%.
Investors are also excited because India and the US are making progress on a trade deal, which could be finished by the end of this year.
Two other big things that might affect the market are decisions from the Reserve Bank of India's Monetary Policy Committee and the amount of money foreign investors are putting into Indian stocks.
Additionally, the market will be closed on December 25 for Christmas and on all weekends in December, leaving 22 trading sessions.
These events are helping to shape how the market is moving this week and next month.
Some experts think the market will keep going up, while others think it could go down if it falls below certain levels.
The pharma and IT sectors are expected to do well, but smaller companies and some other sectors are struggling.
Nifty Pharma was the top performer, gaining nearly 2% and targeting 23,500.
Nifty Defence was the key laggard, declining around 1.3%.
Progress on the US-India trade deal boosted market sentiment, with the first phase likely to be finalized before December 31.
Key triggers for the stock market this week include RBI MPC decisions, FII flows, and upcoming economic data releases.
Pharma and IT sectors show strong momentum, with specific stocks like Sun Pharma, TCS, and HCLTech expected to drive gains.
