BookMyShow Expands Beyond Ticketing Into India’s Live-Events Infrastructure
BookMyShow moves up the live-events chain · financialexpress.com

BookMyShow used to mainly help people buy tickets for entertainment.

Now it is also investing in the places and equipment needed to hold concerts.

Its live-events business grew quickly between FY23 and FY25.

The company bought staging equipment and is working on large concert venues.

It also owns or develops event brands such as Sunburn and Lollapalooza India.

India’s live-events industry is growing, but the country lacks permanent large concert arenas.

District, an entertainment platform owned by Zomato, is making similar investments.

This means the companies are competing to control more of the concert experience, not just ticket sales.
