Kinetic Watts & Volts accelerates electric scooter rollout across India
Kinetic is a very old Indian company whose scooters, like the Luna and Kinetic DX, were once famous on Indian roads.
Now it is making new battery-powered scooters called Kinetic DX and Kinetic DX+.
The Kinetic DX brand was brought back in December 2025.
The company wants its scooters to be sold in 100 shops across India by October.
This year, it hopes to sell 15,000 scooters.
So far, it has already sold 3,000 scooters.
The company has put ₹300 crore into the electric scooter business.
The scooters are being made at its plant in Ahilyanagar in India.
Within five years, Kinetic wants to sell 400,000 electric scooters.
Kinetic says this scooter brand is different from another Kinetic brand, called Kinetic Green.
Kinetic Watts & Volts, a subsidiary of Kinetic Engineering, will expand its Kinetic DX electric scooter network to 100 dealerships nationwide by October.
The company targets selling 15,000 electric scooters this year, backed by a ₹300 crore investment made through KEL.
Production is ramping up at its refurbished plant in Ahilyanagar (formerly Ahmednagar), with 3,000 Kinetic DX and Kinetic DX+ units already sold.
Kinetic aims to reach sales of 400,000 units within five years by capturing a 5% share of India's EV market, expected to reach 26% penetration by 2030.
The Kinetic DX range, relaunched in December 2025 and designed by Alessandro Tartarini, is positioned separately from the Kinetic Green two-wheeler brand.
