Midnight IIT Delhi Protest Over Student’s Death Ends In Standoff

Students at IIT Delhi have been protesting for five days.

They are upset after the suicide of MSc student Rishikesh Kumar.

The protest grew larger around midnight.

Students said they gathered late because their academic schedules were very demanding.

They marched toward the institute’s main gate.

Officials or security personnel placed heavy barricades across the gate.

Some students and other people were left outside and could not enter.

The protest ended with the campus at a standstill.
