CPI(M) Questions Land Acquisition for Durga Angan Project
A leader from the CPI(M) party in West Bengal, Goutam Deb, has questioned the state government about how land was acquired for a new cultural complex called Durga Angan.
This project, which will honor the festival of Durga Puja, is being built in New Town near Kolkata.
The government says the project will cost Rs 261.99 crore and can hold many devotees.
However, Goutam Deb wants to know if the right rules were followed when getting the land and if the price was set correctly.
He also wants the government to share details about any meetings where these decisions were made.
The chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, recently laid the foundation stone for the project, saying it will celebrate Durga Puja as a cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.
