Neemuch Athletes Rally to Protect Historic Sports Ground

People in a town called Neemuch love a big open field where kids and athletes play sports.

The field is very old and special to the town.

Some grown-ups worried the field might not remain a place to play.

So more than 200 people came together on a Wednesday evening to show they care.

They walked through the streets holding a peaceful rally.

They banged on plates and spoons and sang chants, which is why it is called the 'plate and clap' awareness campaign.

They shouted, 'If the field survives, the game will survive; if the game survives, the future will survive.'

Traders, social workers, and local organisations joined and cheered them on.

Athletes said the field helps them train for jobs in the defence services, police, and other government services.

The leaders warned that if the authorities do not make a good decision, they will hold even bigger rallies to save the field.
