Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy planned to visit the United States after a trip to the United Kingdom.

The Ministry of External Affairs did not approve the United States visit.

The ministry said the planned activities were not suitable for the chief minister’s office and the visit’s purpose.

Reddy said he wanted to bring leading universities and training opportunities to Telangana.

The Indian Overseas Congress criticized the decision.

It said education, jobs, investment, and opportunities for young people should come before political disagreements.
