The Emmy Awards are changing this year.

The Television Academy, which runs the Emmys, has decided to move five award categories out of the main TV show.

These categories will be awarded at separate events before the main ceremony.

The main Emmy Awards show will now have fewer awards, from 26 last year to 19 this year.

The categories that are moving include awards for writing and acting in limited series or movies.

Some groups, like the Directors Guild and the Writers Guild, are not happy with this change.

They think it makes the awards less important for the people who work hard to create TV shows.

The Academy says the changes will make the show more fun to watch, with more performances and comedy.

The main Emmy Awards will still be on September 14, broadcast on NBC and Peacock.

The other award ceremonies will be on September 5 and 6.

All the events will now be called the 'Emmys' instead of having different names.
