Nepal Floods Rescue 84 Indians as Search Operations Continue
A very large flash flood hit parts of Nepal and caused many deaths and disappearances.
India says 84 of its citizens have been rescued.
However, 290 Indian citizens are still difficult to contact.
Nepal says 359 bodies have been recovered and 910 people are missing or out of contact.
Thousands of police and soldiers are searching for people and helping those who are stranded.
Rescue teams have used helicopters and other aircraft to move people to safety.
Food, water, medicine and temporary shelters are being provided.
Officials are also warning that another flood could happen if a blocked river upstream suddenly releases water.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs said 84 Indian nationals have been rescued, including 63 Trishuli-I project workers and 21 Tamil Nadu pilgrims.
The MEA said 290 Indian nationals remain uncontactable, with efforts continuing to verify their whereabouts and safety.
