Coimbatore student dies after brutal assault over suspected mobile theft
A young college student in India named Amuthan was badly hurt by a large group of students and died from his injuries.
Amuthan was 20 years old and in his third year of engineering college.
He was travelling with a friend when more than ten other students stopped them and attacked them.
His friend managed to escape, but Amuthan was hurt very badly.
His friend and another person rushed him to the hospital on a two-wheeler, but he passed away on the way.
The police believe he was attacked because some people thought he had stolen someone's mobile phone.
Six people, including a 17-year-old, were arrested by the police.
