Hyderabad Honey Badgers win TPBL inaugural crown
The first-ever Telangana Pro Basketball League (TPBL) finished with a big game between two teams: the Hyderabad Honey Badgers and the Nizam Nawabs.
The Honey Badgers won the game 70-63 and became the first champions.
They got a big prize of Rs 20 lakh and a cool motorcycle.
An important person, Sabitha Indira Reddy, was there to give them the trophy.
She said it was a great moment for Telangana.
The people who organized the league, like R. Sridhar Reddy and Ambati Prudhvishwar Reddy, worked hard to make it happen.
They want Telangana to be a leader in basketball in India.
Hyderabad Honey Badgers won the inaugural TPBL title, defeating Nizam Nawabs 70-63 in the final.
The TPBL is the first professional basketball league in Telangana and the second official state-level professional league in India.
The tournament ran from December 16 to December 23, 2023, with six teams competing.
Champions received a prize purse of Rs 20 lakh and an MVP award including a Yamaha R15 motorcycle.
Sabitha Indira Reddy praised the Telangana Basketball Association (TBA) for organizing the league and contributing to the growth of basketball.
