Six held with fake Lakshmi idol, stone in Hyderabad

Police in Hyderabad caught six people who were trying to sell a fake statue of the goddess Lakshmi and a special stone.

The statue was supposed to be made of a sacred metal mix called panchaloha, but it was not real.

The group included four car drivers, a worker, and an astrologer.

One of them had bought the fake statue in 2024 for a lot of money, ten lakh rupees.

They wanted to sell the statue and the stone to people by saying the items had magic powers and could bring good luck.

The police stopped them on August 15 before they could make a sale.

The police took the statue and the stone away.

Then they handed the six people and the items to a police station for more questions.

The people are in trouble for trying to trick others with fake holy items.
