India’s Road‑Fuel Demand Surges While LPG Falls

In July 2026, India used more petrol and diesel for cars and trucks, but less LPG for cooking and heating.

Petrol use went up by about 8.6% and diesel by about 9.4%.

LPG use dropped by 17.4%, the biggest fall among the fuels.

Even the fuel used by planes, called aviation turbine fuel, fell a little.

Overall, the total amount of petrol and diesel used in the whole year grew a bit more than the previous year.
