Hydroponic cannabis lab busted in Mumbai home; one arrested
Police in Mumbai found a hidden plant-growing room inside a house in the Borivali area.
The room was being used to grow cannabis, which is not allowed in India.
The growers used a special method called hydroponics, where plants grow without soil.
They learned this method by watching videos on YouTube.
Special lights and machines were used to control temperature, humidity and the acidity of the water.
Police raided the house and broke up the setup.
They found 54 grams of ready cannabis and about 189 grams of wet cannabis.
The drugs they found were worth a lot of money.
Police arrested one person named Babbu Kamat.
They are still searching for the main person in charge, Rahul Thakur.
Police raided and dismantled an illegal hydroponic cannabis lab in the MHB Colony area of Ganpat Patil Nagar, Borivali, Mumbai.
One accused, Babbu Kamat, was arrested, while the alleged main accused, Rahul Thakur, remains at large.
The accused allegedly learned scientific hydroponic cultivation techniques from YouTube videos.
The lab used Grow LED lights and other devices to regulate temperature, humidity and pH levels.
Police recovered 54 grams of hydroponic cannabis worth about Rs 1.62 lakh and around 189 grams of wet cannabis valued at approximately Rs 2.5 lakh.
