Rajasthan Students Turn Journalists To Counter Lack Of Newspapers

In a small village in Rajasthan, India, a school noticed that very few children had newspapers at home.

The principal saw how excited students became whenever news about their school's achievements appeared in the papers.

So the school decided to create its own newspaper.

Students from Classes 10 to 12 do almost all the work, including writing stories, taking photos, recording videos and designing pages.

The newspapers are published in Hindi and English, both printed on paper and available online.

They cover activities at school, like sports, culture, science and social events.

Teachers help guide the students and check that the quality of the work is good.

The government does not give money for this newspaper, so the teachers pay for it from their own pockets.

Printed copies are given to students for free, so everyone at school can read about their friends and achievements.
