The Airports Authority of India (AAI) plans to spend Rs 15,000 crore by 2028 to upgrade its air traffic control towers and navigational systems.

The chairman, Vipin Kumar, shared this news at an event called Wings India 2026.

He said they have checked all airports, towers, and technical systems to decide what needs to be upgraded.

The money will come from the AAI's own savings.

This year, AAI expects to make Rs 22,000 crore, which is the same as last year.

They usually spend Rs 8,000 crore each year on big projects, and last year they had an extra Rs 2,000 crore.

By 2028, they want their systems to be as good as the best in the world.

Experts also discussed the need for more airports, better technology, and more manufacturing in the aviation sector.

They mentioned that India has grown faster than the global average in the last 10 years.
