The government wants to sell some unused land owned by public companies.

The National Land Monetization Corporation is helping Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited auction 459 plots.

Most of the plots are homesites in HB Colony in Visakhapatnam.

Three other plots are in the Auto Nagar area of Gajuwaka.

The land will be sold online in two separate auctions.

Before the auctions, officials will meet possible buyers in three cities.

Buyers must register, complete identity checks and pay a ₹2 lakh deposit for each plot.

The first auction is on 12 October and the second is on 16 October.

The plan is part of the government’s wider effort to raise money from surplus public assets.
