Eight killed in suspected Boko Haram raid in Cameroon
A dangerous group called Boko Haram attacked a small village in Cameroon, a country in Africa.
The attack happened at night when it was dark, so people could not see the fighters coming.
Eight people lost their lives because of the attack.
Two of the people who were hurt died later at the hospital, and one person is still getting medical help.
That same night, the group was also seen in another nearby town.
There, they stole things from shops, took livestock, and damaged a market, but nobody died.
Cameroon's soldiers have fought against Boko Haram before and stopped some of their attacks.
Boko Haram has been carrying out attacks in this part of Cameroon since 2014.
People in the region are hurt and scared because of these repeated attacks.
Suspected Boko Haram fighters killed at least eight people in an overnight attack on Kangaleri village in Cameroon's Far North region.
Six residents were killed at the scene, and two of three wounded victims later died in a hospital, leaving one under medical care.
The raid occurred at around 11 p.m. local time Friday, when gunmen entered the village under cover of darkness before fleeing.
In a separate incident the same night, gunmen believed to be from Boko Haram looted shops and livestock and damaged a market in Tourou, near the Nigeria border, with no deaths reported.
In July, a Boko Haram attack on an army outpost in Tourou killed one woman and wounded four Cameroonian soldiers and an infant.
