Telangana ministers vow government schools will match corporate standards

Some important government leaders in a place called Telangana want to make government schools just as good as fancy private schools.

They want children from families who do not have much money to get a wonderful education.

The leaders went to a town called Elkathurthi to open a brand-new school building for girls.

That school is called the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayam, and it was very expensive to build.

The government is also paying more money for food and other things students need while living at school.

Food costs have gone up by 40 percent, and money for girls' personal care items has gone up by 200 percent.

The state is giving every constituency lots of money to build big residential schools where about 3,500 students can live and study.

The leaders say students should learn skills and job training, not just subjects from books.

This will help students find good jobs when they grow up.

The government believes giving top priority to education will help children from poor and middle-class families succeed.
