Diet Charges Raised for BC Hostel Students in Vijayawada
The state government is giving more money for food served to BC hostel students.
The new prices begin on October 1.
Younger students in Classes 3 to 6 will receive meals funded at ₹1,265 per month.
Students in Classes 7 to 10 will receive ₹1,600 per month.
Intermediate and older students will receive ₹1,800 per month.
The government says the extra money will help provide better and tastier food.
Students will get eggs six days a week and chicken three days a week.
They will also receive milk and fruits every day.
Other foods include millet chikkis, ragi laddus, pulses and vegetables.

Charges for Classes 7 to 10 increase to ₹1,600, from ₹1,400.
