Three Firefighters Killed as Wildfires Rage Across Southern Europe

A big fire in France’s Gironde region was the biggest blaze in the country, burning a lot of land and forcing many people to leave their homes.

In Greece, three firefighters died while fighting a fire on the island of Crete.

The hot, dry weather and strong winds made the fires spread quickly across France, Greece, and Spain.

Many people in France and Spain had to leave their houses, but as the fires slowed, some were allowed to go back home.

The fire in France was so intense that it even created a special cloud that produced lightning and more fires.

Firefighters and volunteers worked hard to stop the flames, and officials kept people safe by ordering evacuations and later letting them return when it was safer.
