Indian Navy Ships Join Maritime Engagements in Malaysia and Italy
Two Indian Navy ships visited ports in Malaysia and Italy on September 9.
INS Mysore went to Lumut for a naval exercise with Malaysia.
The exercise lets sailors practise, talk and learn from one another.
It also includes visits between ships and sporting activities.
INS Sudarshini reached Livorno while travelling on a long sailing expedition called Lokayan 2026.
The ship has travelled more than 17,400 nautical miles across 10 countries.
Before reaching Italy, it practised sailing with Italy’s ITS Palinuro.
These activities are meant to build friendship and professional cooperation between the navies.
INS Mysore arrived at Lumut, Malaysia, on September 9 for the fourth Samudra Laksamana exercise with the Royal Malaysian Navy.
Samudra Laksamana includes harbour and sea engagements, cross-deck visits, operational interactions and sporting activities.
The exercise aims to improve interoperability, exchange professional experience and strengthen India-Malaysia maritime cooperation.
INS Sudarshini arrived at Livorno, Italy, on September 9 during its 17,400-nautical-mile Lokayan 2026 expedition across 10 countries.
INS Sudarshini conducted coordinated manoeuvring and sail-handling drills with the Italian Navy’s ITS Palinuro in the Mediterranean Sea.
