Chandigarh Advances HIV Targets; Focuses on Treatment
Imagine a city trying to help people with HIV.
They want to make sure that 95 out of 100 people know if they have HIV, that 95 out of 100 people who know they have HIV are getting treatment, and that 95 out of 100 people getting treatment have the virus under control.
Chandigarh has already done a great job with the first and third goals!
Now, they're working hard to make sure that everyone who needs treatment stays on it.
They are even looking for people who may have stopped their treatment.
Chandigarh is working to reach the 95-95-95 HIV targets.
The first and third 95 targets have been successfully achieved.
Over 5,300 people are receiving free Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART).
The focus is now on ensuring everyone diagnosed stays on treatment.
A campaign is underway to re-engage patients who discontinued treatment.
