KTR Alleges Huge Scam in PM Ekta Mall Tender
Massive Scam In PM Ekta Mall Project, Cancel Tender, Order Probe: KTR Asks Sitharaman · deccanchronicle.com

A political leader named Mr. K.T. Rama Rao says something unfair is happening with a big new shopping mall project.

The mall is called the PM Ekta (Unity) Mall and is planned for a place called Raidurgam.

He wrote a letter to the finance minister, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, complaining that the way builders were chosen was not fair.

He says the rules of the selection process were strange and suspicious and seemed to give too many advantages to one private building company.

The mall will cost about 2,059 crore rupees, with the central government helping to pay for part of it.

In the current plan, the government gets nine lakh square feet of space, while the private builders get at least eighteen lakh square feet.

Mr. Rama Rao believes the government is using the mall's name to hide a bad deal.

He wants the selection process stopped completely and a full investigation to be done.

He also wonders why the central government stays silent even as complaints are being made about corruption in Telangana.
