Hyderabad DMHO Directs Regular NCD Surveys, Follow-Up Care
A health leader in the city of Hyderabad, India, met with doctors and health workers on Thursday.
His name is Dr Putla Srinivas, and he is in charge of health for the district.
He told them to keep checking people for sicknesses called non-communicable diseases, like diabetes and heart problems.
These are diseases that do not spread from one person to another.
He wants workers to find people who need help and make sure they get medicine and checkups.
He also said that when someone might be sick, workers should write the case into a computer system.
He reminded everyone to take good care of people who live in slums.
He wants pregnant women to be registered as soon as possible so they can get checkups.
He asked workers to teach people how to stay safe from seasonal diseases.

Officials must register pregnant women as soon as pregnancy is identified and create awareness about seasonal diseases.
