DOST Special Drive Allots 14,975 Students Provisional Seats

This story is about getting a seat in a college in the Indian state of Telangana.

A group called the Telangana Council of Higher Education helps students find places in degree colleges through a process called DOST.

In a special round of admissions, almost 15,000 students were given temporary seats, and most of them got their first choice.

Across all rounds, more than two lakh students — that's over 200,000 — have now confirmed their seats.

But there are still many empty seats waiting for students.

Students who got seats must confirm them online by a deadline.

They also need to visit their college in person, or they could lose their seat.

More students may get seats in the next round of admissions, too.
