Nine Companies File Draft IPO Papers With SEBI Amid Rush
Nine companies in India have asked SEBI for permission to sell shares to the public.
Selling shares this way is called an initial public offering, or IPO.
The companies want to raise money for expansion, daily business needs, debt repayment and other purposes.
Trans ACNR Solutions submitted its papers privately, so its IPO details are not public yet.
The other eight companies made their draft documents public.
They work in areas such as edible oils, farm equipment, forged parts, air-conditioning components, engineering, brewing and energy.
Some IPOs will create new shares, while others will let existing promoters sell shares.
SEBI will review the documents before the companies can proceed.
Nine companies, including Trans ACNR Solutions and Maharashtra Oil Extractions, submitted preliminary IPO papers to SEBI between September 21 and September 26.
Trans ACNR Solutions used the confidential pre-filing route, so details such as offer size, valuation and timeline are not yet public.
