Election Chief Praises Booth Officers, Urges Youth Voting Literacy

The Chief Election Commissioner met workers who help organize elections at local polling booths.

He said these Booth Level Officers are very important for democracy.

They visit homes to check that voter lists are correct.

More than 500 of these officers shared their suggestions at the meeting.

The event took place in Chennai and also included almost 1,000 students, teachers, and first-time voters.

Young people were asked to learn about voting and help others understand democracy.

Participants watched demonstrations about voter lists, voting, and counting votes.

The Chief Election Commissioner also praised Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for their strong turnout in the recent Assembly elections.
