Four ISIS Operatives Sentenced in Voice of Hind Conspiracy
A court in India has sentenced four people linked to ISIS.
The case concerned an online magazine called Voice of Hind.
Prosecutors said the group helped spread ISIS messages and recruit young people.
They also said the network encouraged people to travel to areas controlled by ISIS.
Three people were given six years in prison each.
A fourth person was given five years in prison.
The four people had admitted to the charges.
The case against other accused people is still continuing.
An NIA Special Court sentenced four ISIS operatives in the Voice of Hind conspiracy case.
Umar Nisar, Rameez Ahmad Lone and Tanveer Ahmad Bhat received six years of rigorous imprisonment each.
Afshan Parvaiz Jarabi received five years of rigorous imprisonment.
The convicts pleaded guilty to charges involving ISIS propaganda, radicalisation, recruitment and conspiracy under UAPA and IPC provisions.
The NIA said the network spread ISIS material online, supported recruitment and promoted migration to ISIS conflict zones; proceedings against other accused remain pending.
