Suraj Finishes 11th as Indian Wushu Pair Exit Early
India competed in several wushu events at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Suraj Singh Mayanglambam performed a traditional kung fu routine called changquan.
He scored 9.683 points and finished 11th among 21 finalists.

Aparna Dahiya competed in the women’s 52kg Sanda event.
She lost both rounds of her match against Iran’s Sogand Sinkaeichetan.
Vikrant Baliyan also lost both rounds against Iran’s Soheil Mousavi.
Because both fighters lost in the round of 16, neither reached the quarterfinals.
Sanda is the full-contact fighting form of wushu.
Suraj Singh Mayanglambam finished 11th in the men’s changquan wushu final with 9.683 points.
Suraj scored 5.00 for movement quality, 2.00 for difficulty and 2.683 for overall performance, with no deductions.
Macau’s Kuong Chi Hin and Chi Kuan Song took the top two positions, with 0.040 points separating Suraj from third place.
Aparna Dahiya lost 0-2 to Iran’s Sogand Sinkaeichetan in the women’s 52kg Sanda round of 16.
Vikrant Baliyan also lost 0-2 to Iran’s Soheil Mousavi in the men’s 75kg Sanda round of 16.
